The authentication log above shows two successful logins for the same user. Which indicator of compromise does this represent?
- Impossible travel indicating compromised credentials
- A normal use of a corporate VPN
- A routine password change event
- A load balancer distributing the session
Why: two successful logins from places too far apart to travel between in 38 minutes mean the credentials are being used by more than one party. A VPN would show one consistent exit location.

Same format. Different weights.
SY0-801 keeps the shape of the exam and the numbers of its five domains, but moves weight between them. Both versions mix multiple-choice questions with performance-based tasks.

// question types
Multiple choice and performance-based tasks
Security+ does not only ask you to pick an answer. The app trains the tasks too, scored with partial credit. The examples below are from the app.
Multiple choice
Single answer, or choose two or three. Many questions start with an exhibit to read: an authentication log, a scan result, a firewall rule, a snippet of code.
Every one names its objective and comes with an explanation that covers the wrong options too.
Put steps in order
3.4 · Resilience and recovery
Place the steps for developing a business continuity program in the correct order.
- Conduct a business impact analysis
- Select recovery strategies
- Develop the continuity and recovery plans
- Test and exercise the plans
- Review and update the plans regularly
Match
4.5 · Identity and access management
Match each authentication method to the factor category it represents.
- Code from a hardware token
- Something you have
- Fingerprint scan
- Something you are
- Personal identification number
- Something you know
- Sign-in allowed only inside a geofence
- Somewhere you are
Categorize
1.3 · Cryptographic solutions
Categorize each algorithm as symmetric, asymmetric, or hashing.
// mock exam
A full mock, in the real format
When you are ready, sit the whole thing: same length, same clock, same scale.
- Up to 90 questions in 90 minutes on a running clock. When time runs out, the paper is submitted.
- Performance-based tasks first, then multiple choice spread across the five domains by your version's weights.
- An estimated score on the 100–900 scale, against the 750 pass line. CompTIA does not publish how it scales scores, so the app always calls it an estimate.
- A result for each domain that points at your weakest one, so you know what to study next.
Example result · SY0-80190 questions · 90:00
Weakest: domain 5, Security Program Management and Oversight. Study that next.

Everything between today and your exam
Practice by domain, see your readiness the way the exam weighs it, and keep a plan that ends on the date you booked.
Every question tagged and explained
Each question names the SY0-801 objective it covers, such as 2.5 or 4.3, and explains why the right answer is right and the others are not.
One switch: 801 or 701
Pick the exam you booked. The domains, their weights, the mock and your readiness all follow that version.
Readiness by domain, by weight
See where you stand in each domain, counted the way your exam counts it, and which domains are still under the line.
A plan to your exam date
Enter the date you booked: you get a countdown and a daily target that spreads what is left over the days you have, with an optional daily reminder.
Mistakes come back
Every question you miss goes to your mistakes list and stays there until you answer it right twice in a row.
Report a problem on any question
If a question or an explanation looks wrong, report it from the question. Reports come straight to us, and we fix the bank.
Offline, no account, no ads
Everything lives on your device. Study anywhere, with nothing to sign up for and nothing in the way.
iPhone and iPad
Made for both: a two-column layout on iPad, and dark mode on either.
Original questions, not exam dumps
We write every question ourselves, against CompTIA's published SY0-801 objectives. None of them is a real exam question, and we never claim otherwise.
What we can promise is traceability: each question names the objective it covers and explains its answer, so you can check the reasoning. If you find a mistake, report it from the question and we will fix it.

Questions
About the exam versions, the questions and the price.
Which version should I study, SY0-801 or SY0-701?
The one you are booked for. Before 17 November 2026 only SY0-701 can be taken. From 17 November 2026 to 11 June 2027 both versions are available in English and you choose when you book. After 11 June 2027 only SY0-801 remains. Starting from zero with a date after mid-November? SY0-801 is the version that stays. The app has a version switch, so you can change at any time. Our SY0-801 vs SY0-701 guide compares the two in detail.
Are these the real exam questions?
No. Every question is original, written against CompTIA's published SY0-801 objectives and tagged to the objective it covers. They are not real exam questions, and the app is not affiliated with or endorsed by CompTIA.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Questions, explanations, the mock exam and your progress are all on your iPhone or iPad, so you can study on a plane or a train. Buying or restoring the lifetime pass needs a connection.
Is it a subscription?
No. The lifetime pass is a one-time purchase: it does not renew and there is nothing to cancel. It is $14.99 on the US App Store; the price may vary by country and is shown in the app before you buy. On a new device, restore it with the same Apple ID.
What is free?
Domain 1, General Security Concepts, in full, plus daily questions, your mistakes list and your readiness. The lifetime pass opens every domain, the performance-based task trainer and the full mock exam.
Is the mock score my real score?
It is an estimate. The mock follows the real format (up to 90 questions in 90 minutes, performance-based tasks first, the domains in your version's weights) and places your result on the 100–900 scale with the 750 pass line. CompTIA does not publish how it scales scores, so the app always labels the number as an estimate. It is a guide to your readiness, not a promise of a result.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are made and refunded by Apple. You can ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple's refund policy.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login, and there are no ads.
Is there an Android version?
Not at the moment. Security+ Prep is for iPhone and iPad.
